Removing a control panel appeared like a simple job, until you look at it and can’t find where the tabs are placed to get them out of the way before prying. I figured I might as well take a look at the service manual. Easy enough, until you try the second set of instructions. Prying at the panel from the side upwards will destroy the piece. Why is that? Because there are two more unmentioned tabs. I’ve uploaded a picture as it may help others before the prying gets too heavy.
- First steps for removing the control panel
- Second page from service manual
- Two tabs located at the lower right and left corners have to be pushed inwards (together) to get this to come off.
- Control panel upper shot, just for reference
Thankfully the control panel still worked great after I managed to get it out and re-seat the ribbon cables.
